What do I wear on a helicopter tour?

What should I wear for a helicopter tour? Is a question that is commonly posed. And it is an important one. Our Specialized Aviation trips run year-round, so the answer varies on the season and weather conditions. However, there are fundamental concepts you must comprehend.
1. Layer, layer, layer
The weather may include all seasons in a single day – layering is the key to comfort. On one of the landing excursions, the temperature may be lower than at the base owing to the higher altitude. Typically, wear wool or synthetic long-sleeved shirt and bring extra layers. You can bring a fleece and a lightweight down jacket as base layers. Normally, a raincoat is advised because it provides protection from wind and precipitation and acts as an extra layer. Obviously, you'll need an extra outer layer and long underwear if you're traveling in late fall or winter.
2. Accessories and gloves
Even when visiting a glacier in the summer, I usually bring a hat and gloves. As said earlier, one never knows what might happen in California! Given that we are in a high location, the wind may be colder and stronger. Possessing a hat and gloves may assist greatly in your comfort.
3. Robust footwear
Please leave your house shoes, open-toed shoes, sandals, heels, and flip-flops at home. Put on sturdy, protective footwear like hiking boots, shoes, etc. During landing excursions, your pilot will guide you to attractive locations, bridges, and other intriguing phenomena.

4. Sun protection
Strange as it may sound, the glacier may induce sunburn. It is true — most of the sun's rays are reflected by ice. On a sunny summer day, you should wear sunglasses and may need long-sleeved clothing, a hat, or sunscreen.
5. A camera
For many of our clients, a tour by helicopter is a once-in-a-lifetime occasion. California's beauty is so breathtaking that it is best seen from above. Everywhere you look, everything is flawless. Smartphones shoot fantastic images and videos. We recommend carrying a 24-120mm focal length lens if you choose to bring a camera. If you are a serious photographer planning photography-focused travels, we can help you.
Thus, your options for an ensemble for this tour can be many but choose customizable fabrics and clothing pieces to ensure that you have the agility to change as per the changing temperatures. These were our insights on what you can wear for your helicopter tour; let us know if you have any of your recommendations or ideas!
